Soundtracks: Ecco - Songs of Time
This is the Soundtrack CD for the Sega CD / Mega CD games Ecco the
Dolphin and Ecco: Tides of Time. It's created by the SEGA Music Group
and uses many (but not all) background songs from the game's music, which is created by
the great Spencer Nielsen! The CD has 18 tracks starting with 11 tracks from TOT
followed by 7 tracks from the first game. Many of the tracks from the first game had been left
out, e.g. the great "Jurassic Beach" music... But oh well, you can't have all ;)
Inside the cover is a great text by Spencer Nielsen about how he
worked on the music and the way he is affected by dolphins. Also the staff is listed there.
The whole design of the CD and the inlays is great and colorful and nicely designed - just
as they CD itself :)
PsySonic's opinion: This CD was for me definately worth it's buy, even though
I got the games later from eBay. Some of tracks on this soundtrack are even a little longer
than the game versions. Though I really miss some tracks like the Home Bay track from
TOT or the Jurassic Beach track from Ecco 1. The text in the inlay is just great
and the whole thing is really lovely designed! I really recommend it to every true Ecco fan,
but for those who already have the CD games and don't really need the music again it's not
a big loss if you don't get it. :)
