The
JENSEN SSR2000 consists of a Down Link Processor (DLP) and a Display
Control
Unit (DCU). The DLP is the satellite receiver, and the DCU is the
controller/display
unit. When combined with a subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio and a
Sirius compatible antenna (sold separately), this system can be used to
receive Sirius satellite radio programming in your vehicle. This system
must be used with an optional FM modulator or a head unit equipped with
an auxiliary input.
Sirius Satellite Radio: Sirius Satellite Radio programming will feature up to 100 channels of digital-quality music, news, talk, sports, entertainment, and children's programming nationwide, many of which will be commercial-free. For a monthly subscription fee, you will be able to receive Sirius signals in your car.
Display Control Unit (DCU): This controller is a wired display/remote control unit which has a coiled cable that will expand to 7' 8". There is a 19' data cable that must be connected between the controller cable and the receiver; the tuner cannot be connected directly to the receiver.
The controller/display is extremely compact, so it's easy to find a convenient mounting location in your vehicle. Access your favorite channels quickly with 20 presets and 12 preset categories. The tuner offers superb digital-quality sound, and the included 19.7-foot wire harness includes all power, audio, and display connections.
DCU Display: The DCU display is capable of showing four lines of information and up to 20 characters per line. There are three brightness levels to chose from on the DCU. Depending on the program material, various text data may be available for display including:
Band/Channel number
Channel name
Song title
Artist name
Category name
Mode of operation: The tuner allows you to select channels by two modes:
Direct Mode: allows you to select the individual channels
directly.
You can preset up to 20 individual channels in the SSR2000's internal
memory.
Category Mode: allows you to chose the channels by program
categories.
Once you are in the category, you can then chose individual channels.
You
can preset into internal memory up to 20 categories (currently there
are
only 12 program categories).
Skip/Delete Channel Feature: This feature allows you to delete
channels, so they will be skipped when using the seek and scan tuning
functions.

KENWOOD CX-SR10 SIRIUS RADIO ANTENNA
If
you are considering Sirius, you will need a CX-SR10; it is the antenna
designed specifically for the Kenwood KTC-SR901 Sirius Satellite Radio
Tuner, but should work with other Sirius compatible receivers (It works
great with the Jensen SSR2000). The CX-SR10 is surface-mountable and
attaches
easily to the tuner box. Though they retail for $80.00, I got
this
one for under $45.00 on-line!
