This area shows my, well, almost expertise with the Avenger- Yeah, so I am tooting my own horn, big deal.

This Email is about the IAT Modification (I am busting preople on this by selling their Lies on Ebay):

you sure they are using 4.7k resistors? Some are using 10 ohm and
claiming similar results. By the way I like what you're doing

Hello Powerslave,

I tried disconnecting the battery and discharging the power and took it for a spin and it worked.  The real test is tomorrow when I book it to work on the HWY to see if it maintains normal working conditions again.

Thank you powerslave you a life saver.  I can't belive a the transmission guys did't figure it out??  Where did they go to school, coconut college?

If anyone reads this problem that I had, Powerslave is  an asset to consult.  It's good to see that there are smart, good people in this world.

I'll keep you posted if this works, But I think it will.  Thanks once again, your the man.

Well, I finally got an analysis.  Two things wrong.  The wiring from the console to the tranny is bad, which goes with your last message about the switch and wiring.
Second, the shift linkage from the console to the tranny is bent.  For instance, the button on top of the shifter that you depress to shift out of PARK, REVERSE, etc. does not work.  It is always depressed and can move freely between gears.
So it's going to cost me $300 to fix everything.  I'll let you know how the repair goes.

Nice find dude!

I bought some Xenon glow HID fogs, which I didn't know existed. I already had the headlights and was searching all over for the fogs, couldn't find them so I bought some of those shit ass Sylvania silverstars for $40.00 retail, biggist waste of money! Stay away from those shits.

Got the Xenons for 22.00 total/shipping incl.

Got some clear corners too for 23.00. Have to repalce mine that I just got three wks ago and just busted one.

So Yaaaaayyyy!

Good find dude! You rock!

PostPosted: Sat Jul 10, 2004 6:24 am    Post subject: Ac compressor

I need to replace the ac compressor with clutch on my 98 venge v6. The haynes repair manual tells me that i need to discharge the airconditioning system before starting any of that work. But i have not been able to figure out how to discharge it. I know i can go to a shop or a dealership but i don't wanna waste more money just for discharge it.
Can anybody help please.

MY REPLY:
CAR NOT RUNNING OF COURSE: There are TWO ways to do it, the RIGHT way, or, as you are losening up the hose fitting on the back of the compressor, do it SLOWLY, you will hear the pressure, and it "ssssssssssssss" as it comes out, and move your hand away immediately (so you don't freeze it!).. There are "O" rings in the fittings, you will need new ones.

The other way is, since you have to buy the recharge and oil KIT anyway, buy that FIRST! Act as if you are going to charge the system, do NOT put a can of anything on the hose, and when you press the fitting on to the line, slowly open the valve, it will come out as well. It WILL be cold, so just watch what you're doing.

THe REFIL kit must contain at least two bottles of R134a, and a bottle of the oil/lurbicant, and sealant. The oil is for the compressor. SOME kits come with two cans that have the oil and refrigerant mixed, and with the sealer too, that's fine, you may need to buy another one of those. Follow the directions on the REFIL kit when after you put the new compressor on. The compressor won't engage because there is no refrigerent in the system, you have to short out the harness so manually engages, motor running, as you are gillng it back up (Low pressure side for refil).

Thanks powerslave!!! I donno what this site will do without you.
Thanks again.
