There's more to string figures and cat's cradles than you might expect! The very simple figures that just about everybody learns to construct as a child barely brush the surface of the great complexity and fun possible from a loop of string.

I rediscovered the joys of string figures after stumbling on Richard Darsie's excellent site, and quickly became hooked. If you are new to string, there is also another extensive collection aimed primarily at beginners. The figures on my site tend to be a little more difficult, at least until you get used to the standard nomenclature used to describe them.
