These figures were known only from mounted specimens collected on the remote Pacific island of Nauru. I was lucky enough to find construction methods for them which are both relatively simple (compared to other Nauruan figures, that is) and which use authentic Nauruan techniques. The Nauruans used very thin strings of plaited human hair, so effective construction of their figures requires a long, thin, slippery string. |

This is a simple continuation of the previous figure.
Several different recontructions have been proposed for this figure, and this is the best of the three discovered by me. Other methods can be found in the 2002 issue of the Bulletin of the International String Figures Association.
