News and Updates

This page contains everything of any importance about the band, including gig info, recording sessions, getting wasted sessions etc.

30th March 2003

The band took the stage at The Crazy Elephant for the second time in its short career with guest guitarist Jamie Hamilton, and rumbled through renditions of "Good Times Bad Times" by Zep, "Brown Sugar" by the Stones, and their own arrangement Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone". We're still looking for bootlegs to appear in the market.

11th February 2003

Levee did a wonderful piece of work for Nautaki 2003, in making the soundtrack for "The Mirror Has Two Hands". The soundtrack added much colour and grandeur to the play and was well acclaimed by the audiences and guests alike, present for the 2 day event on 7th and 8th of Feb, at the National University of Singapore UCC. Since then, due to popular demand, we have put up some of our songs for Easy listening. Please check our Music page for details.

31th January 2003

Another Levee gig @ OOSH! on 29th of Jan. An amazing performance of a cover, followed by some mixture of "magic potions" equivalent worth of originals. This time, as always, Levee presented their talent in whipping out a good mixture of slow, fast, melodious, rocking and funky numbers. All in all, you name it, Levee has it!

And those who missed it, and for the western classical lovers, you should have seen what Levee produced with a Violin incorporation (usually associated with a quartet or an classical ensemble), a number which would have "wow"-ed you all.

Stay posted, and Levee promises to enthrall you all, again and again with much more.

Also Levee was very proud to be alongside two great bands, Frosty Mug and XS. With all of you, it was Art we presented. Lets keep up the good work.

7th January 2003

After a long, dry period of hibernation (members spending time with family for Christmas and New Years' etc), Levee is back in town and ready to blast again! We have a gig coming up at OOSH! in Clarke Quay on 29th Jan (Together with Frosty Mug, and XS). This time we're planning an all original set list.
Also Levee is working on it's new project, composing and recording the songs for the Precocious Puppets drama production "The Mirror Has Two Hands" written by Mohit Sindhwani and playing at the University Cultural Centre, NUS on the 7th and 8th of February, 2003.

10th November 2002

Levee has updated the links page with a "Link Exchange" section, which houses the links to some great sites that support Levee and vise versa. Levee is proud to exchange links with them. Check it out.

2nd November 2002

Levee has a gig coming up @ Club OOSH! in Clarke Quay on 19th November. Be there to catch us headlining the night with an explosive Classic Rock set.

29th September 2002

Levee rocked the house down at the Club OOSH! at Clarke Quay, with a one hour show that includes the new Levee originals, "Big Time Lights" and "No Sleep" as well as covers ranging from The Doors' "Roadhouse Blues", Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe" and the Stones' "Honky Tonk Women". A nine song set, followed by an encore of "Sympathy for the Devil" by popular demand. The hour is a lesson in tight, loud, controlled rock n roll thunder.

1st September 2002

Levee played in 'The Crazy Elephant' pub. The band rocked the place out with "Sympathy For The Devil", ""Light My Fire", and "Won't Get Fooled Again". A totally insane rock 'n' roll experience.

23rd August 2002

Marathon recording session of Levee's demo CD took place today. Three songs: "Journey' Done", "Desire", and "No Sleep" were recorded.

8th August 2002

Levee officially is now a 6-piece band. Turjo will be the rhythm guitarist. He will also provide all the miscellaneous one-liners that will spice up our live shows. Have to.

25th July 2002
After a longish dry period, Levee is back to rocking out...the band's latest project is the making of an all original soundtrack for a performance by a drama group called Precocious Puppets for their performance scheduled for February 6th and 7th, 2003. The first compositions are well underway, and the first demo recording sessions are scheduled for July 27th.

24th April 2002
With no gig in sight for some time, Levee is now working on their originals, trying to arrange and sort out tunes, avoid obvious rip-offs, get rid of white noise and try to sound coherent. Recording sessions are temporarily scheduled for May 4th.

18th March 2002
Performance at the LT13 Theatrette in NUS. The opener was a new original "Just Another Joke", followed by "Stairway to Heaven", "Ruby Tuesday", "Won't Get Fooled Again" and "Burn".

10th March 2002
Gig at the Beach, Costa Sands Resort in East Coast Park. The band covered "Burn", "Sympathy for the Devil", "Whole Lotta Love", "Light my Fire" and "Won't Get Fooled Again"

28th February 2002
JamX 2002 Finals at Zouk. "Journey's Done" yet again, and "Won't Get Fooled Again" by the Who. No very special outcome.
