We live in Daejeon, South Korea.  I have marked it with a red dot on this map.  Daejeon is the fifth largest city in South Korea with a population of approximately 1.4 million people, and is the capital of the South Chungcheong province, but as administered separately as provincial-level metropolitan city.  It's about as central as you can get for large cities.  Seoul is a two hour bus ride away.  You'll often seen Daejeon spelt with a "T", Taejeon, because in Korean "T" and "D" are basically the same.  Last year the government announced that the city would officially be named Daejeon with a "D."

Daejeon is sister cities with both Calgary and Seattle.

If you want to read more about Daejeon, the little guy below will take you to the Daejeon Metropolitan main page.  His name Hankkumi, the character of Daejeon.  Everything in Korea seems to have a mascot or character or both.

Korea's time zone in +9 GMT, but South Korea doesn't observe daylights saving time.
