Even though I wasn't at home for my birthday, I had a good day. I got presents from some of my adult students, had a party at school, went to school with the teachers and the had another party and cake with my morning class the next day. And that is ignoring that on Friday I am going out with Rob and Terry to celebrate. It's like my birthday is 3 days long.
This the first present I got. It's from Chris. She's in the dinner with students pictures. She's very nice, and we are becoming friends. She's going to go with me to Seoul to see some theatre since there isn't any in Daejeon. The wrapping was so pretty I felt bad opening it. They are gloves for biking in the winter.

In the back is a big card from all of the teachers at my school and Mrs Kim. On the front is happy birthday in a bunch of languages. English, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, French, Chinese and one or two others. Everyone also signed the back. The present is from Jay, he's in my advanced evening class.

The Belgian chocolates are from Jay, and are very good. I've eaten a couple so far. I'm trying to make them last. The scarf is from Mrs Noh in my morning class. And the other item is for my desk from Molly and Tom, two new morning students. It comes with seeds for growing grass in the black thing you can see, and a scented candle.

This was a surprise party that was thrown for me during the last hour of classes on Wednesday. I don't have my adult classes on Wednesday, so none of them are here. I knew something was up, since I keep hearing people talk about a "party," and other such things. But it was really nice. It was the first of my cakes.
Me cutting the cake and slicing a piece. I got a piece and everyone else just dove in and started ripping it apart with chopsticks.
All of the teachers at my school. Left to right, Susan, Beth, Me, and Ally. Mrs Kim (my boss) in the back there, half in the shot.
After class, I went with the teachers and our evening secretary to dinner. They told me to pick the food and they would pick the place. I chose Italian.
The restaurant was very nice. I'd say it was the nicest I have been to in Korea. It had a very Italian feel, good music, nice people and excellent food.
My second cake. They gave me some free cake, and sang me Happy Birthday. All of the waiter/waitresses could speak at least a bit of English, which is amazing. I had another cake the next morning with my morning class and might have a fourth with Rob and Terry on Friday, but only time will tell.
