Chris and I had originally had plans to go to see the The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King on this day, but all the tickets were sold out.  I curious if we're actually going to see something challenge Titanic for world wide grosses.  But with that option eliminated, we made plans to go the zoo to see the animals and also to see the luminaries, a light presentation that starts off with a bang.  No, literally, fireworks.  We went with Chris' cousin and her friend.  They were a little quite, but very nice.  It was quite warm when I left my house but when we got to the zoo, a 40 minute bus ride it was quite cold.

All of the attractions here feel a little bit like Disney land.  We actually didn't see any of the animals on top of the sign in the park, but there was a section of the zoo we didn't go into.  We got to the park around 4:45, and the zoo part closed at 6 I think.  So we only had time for a quick tour.  We were still able to see most animals because the zoo was much smaller than a North American zoo, space restrictions and all.

This a pretty neat enclosure for the tigers, but I was a little sad at the zoo.  I felt bad for the animals.  The animals really didn't have a lot of space to move around.  There were 4 tigers, and almost all of their enclosure is in the picture.  Plus people we doing things like banging on the glass the monkeys were in and unsetting them.  Chris asked me if I was bored, because I had a sorta sad look on my face, but I explained it to her.  She said I must be a good person =)  Plus, I usually go to zoos with Tiff, so I associate them with her, so that was a little sad too.

There are cartoon characters everywhere here, I like them.  The cute little penguins were all inside though.  I thought they liked the cold?

These guys reminded me of our camping trip.  We saw a bunch of them in Jasper.  And before anyone asks that's part of the fence at the top, not my finger.

Just like Disneyland.  Welcome to elephant land, try not to get trampled.

I love the busses.  I just had to show everyone.  I want one of my own.  Imagine looking the review mirror and seeing a big, metal, yellow lion chasing you down the highway.  If only all dreams could come true.  But if they did, some punk would probably run over my poor lion bus with a tank.  Yar, I say to that kid for his thoughtless destruction, YAR!

Chris and her cousin.  They posed with the monkeys, and I have that picture too, but I like this one more.  There were animal statues all over the place.

The lights started off with a firework show.  We missed the start of it because we were just finishing dinner.  I got to try out the firework option on my camera.

I like this shot.  I'm on the deck of the restaurant we ate dinner at, under the strings.  Most of the lights were near the entrance to the park.  It's just beyond the big things in the middle.

Flower lights stretched down the sides of the main path.  There were quite a lot of people out and about, as there always is in Korea.  I was surprised what some people were wearing.  Even I was a little cold.

Oddly, in descending height, me, Chris' cousin, her friend and Chris herself.  I didn't realize my glowed that much.  Those aren't reflective strips, just a small reflective thread sewn into black.

It reminded me a bit of the light the Disney World light parade they had when we were there for their 25th or 35th birthday.  I can't remember which I was.  The poor drum girls, their outfits looked cold.

I decided to sacrifice focus for colours.  As Rob and Terry will attest, night shots, unless you leave them on auto are hard to keep focused.  I think I might pick up a extremely collapsible tripod.

Good picture of me.  In the wall you see to the left, there was this little hole/door/gate.  I joked, it was like I was back living in my igloo in Canada =)  You can also see how much colour you can loose to the flash.

There were a bunch of igloo-style (new word) ice sculptures.  This was the neatest one.  As you can see, they were made out of separate blocks of ice, put together like and igloo, hence my word, with lights running thought them.

This is right by the entrance.  In fact it is right behind me.  Like I said before, there are cartoon characters everywhere.  It makes things seem less intimidating, even the police have their own little guy.
