Here are some scenes created in gmax & rendered with YafRay

A simple scene to show basic shadows, reflections and bump mapping.


A glass with high transparency, reflection, refraction and some GI.




It took a while to get the balance I wanted to achieve in this render.





Don't get discouraged if you don't get good results right away. Lighting can be difficult to setup, start with a basic 2 or 3 point lighting setup and 'soft' materials, then add the refractive and reflective materials and adjust the lights accordingly, finally add the background illumination and GI.
